Teen facing charges after allegedly shooting 16-year-old girl in Seguin

The 14-year-old juvenile is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious bodily injury.

SAN ANTONIO — A Seguin teenager has been taken into custody and is now facing charges after he allegedly shot a 16-year-old girl, according to the Seguin Police Department.

Police say the incident happened Saturday afternoon when they responded to a call for a person bleeding from the head on the 1200 block of West Court Street near Texas Lutheran University.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 16-year-old girl with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

A 14-year-old boy has been identified as the suspect in the shooting and is currently in custody.

The victim was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital where she is currently undergoing medical care.

The case remains under investigation.
