Altercation between two juveniles ends in shooting on far west side

Bexar County officials say a 14-year-old male was grazed in the head from a round fired at him by another juvenile at the Applewood Ranch Apartments.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched for a shooting at the Applewood Ranch Apartments on the 6100 block of West Loop 1604.

Upon arrival at the apartment complex, deputies say they found a 14-year-old male grazed in the head from a round fired at him.

According to BCSO, the victim told deputies that the suspect was last seen running into an apartment nearby.

Deputies located the apartment and made contact with the juvenile suspect, who exited the apartment and surrendered himself.

BCSO says they believe the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation between the victim and suspect.

More details are pending and charges are forthcoming.

This is a developing story.
