Spurs' Zach Collins to undergo surgery for torn labrum

Collins suffered the injury during the Spurs' season finale versus Detroit.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs announced that center Zach Collins will undergo surgery after an MRI revealed a torn labrum in his right shoulder he suffered in the team's regular-season finale versus the Pistons.

Collins is scheduled to have surgery soon and is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2024-25 season.

He averaged 11.2 points per game and 5.4 rebounds last season in 69 games. He started at the center spot to start the season, only to find a new role backing up Victor Wembanyama off the bench as the season progressed.
