Jazz 130, Spurs 118: What they said after the game

"It's time they have to be more consistent, or I make changes," Coach Popovich said.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs could not snap their losing streak falling to the Utah Jazz, 130-118.

Victor Wembanyama finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. Zach Collins had six points and four rebounds in the loss. Jeremy Sochan had 19 points and five rebounds. Keldon Johnson added 26 points and four rebounds. Devin Vassell recorded 22 points in the loss.

The Spurs are 4-25 on the season, are on a five-game losing streak, and will next visit the Portland Trail Blazers for the first game of a back-to-back against Portland.

Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.

SPURS

Gregg Popovich:

"We're not consistently offensively or defensively. We go in spurts. We really haven't matured enough to understand that to win an NBA game is difficult. It calls for consistency. Part of it is youth, part of it is that I probably need to demand from certain people. It's time they have to be more consistent, or I make changes.”

Sochan:

"It's 48 minutes in a game. You got to do it the whole time. The whole time. They(Jazz) were a step ahead of us in a few things. For the whole game, they had 25 second-chance points. That's way too many. Little things that we need to be better at."

Wembanyama:

"I think it (new lineup) worked out OK beginning of the game. I think Keldon feels comfortable too. He gets a lot of involvement this way. We need to keep experiencing and I think it worked out pretty well."

JAZZ

Coach Will Hardy:

"Obviously, the Spurs, credit to them, they came out shooting the ball great, playing really hard, they played hard the whole game. They're tough to guard, all their movement and cutting challenges your discipline throughout the game. But I thought that the team stuck with it. Obviously, took a punch early in the game. Went into halftime with a little bit of a lead."

Colin Sexton:

“Three straight road wins. I think at the start of the season we were like 1-11 on the road. Now, I feel like we just need to continue to stay together, continue to fight and just continue to fight through their runs and the little bit of adversity here and there from our team.”
