Tire blowout leads to driver crashing vehicle into apartment office, police say

The car went off of Loop 410 access road and ended up in the office at the Merida apartment homes.

SAN ANTONIO — A tire blowout on the northeast side of town leads to a driver crashing their vehicle into an apartment office late Sunday night.

San Antonio Police responded to the 2100 block of NE Loop 410 near Starcrest Drive around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a vehicle hitting a building.

Officers say the man was driving on the access road when he had a tire blowout, causing him to drive off of the road and into the building.

He was not injured. Firefighters are checking the structural integrity of the building and shoring up where it's needed.

This is a developing story.
