San Antonio Zoo one of many zoos across the country warning customers of fraudulent ads

The company responds to the scam in a social media post.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Zoo took to social media Tuesday to address a scam circulating online.

The fraudulent ads are claiming to offer discounted ticket prices to the zoo in celebration of its 110th anniversary. In a screenshot of one of the mentioned ads, the scammers claimed to offer up to four tickets for as low as $6.95.

In their statement, the zoo advises customers not to click any links or enter any personal information if they come across the advertisements.

The zoo is also encouraging customers to visit the official San Antonio Zoo website for accurate ticket pricing and promotions.

It appears the scam is not exclusive to the San Antonio area. Multiple zoos across the country have faced a similar issue in the last month, including the Great Plains Zoo in Minnesota, the San Francisco Zoo and the Oklahoma City Zoo. Each of these companies released similar statements advising the public to be cautious.
