San Antonio International Airport expecting records crowds this week

The airport is predicting that more than 30,000 folks will be flying in and out of the airport through Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO — Fliers get ready! This week could be one of the busiest holiday travel seasons ever, with 30 million Americans taking off.

And for Wednesday, November 22, the airport is predicting the largest crowds.

Airport officials in San Antonio says they are following the national trend and expect more travelers this Thanksgiving holiday, with 30,000 people expected to fly out of San Antonio International Airport through Sunday.

Now that’s a 20% increase from last year, so they want you to be prepared.

Officials say they want to make sure travelers have a seamless, stress-free travel experience when using the San Antonio Airport with the following advice:

  • Plan ahead for your arrival
  • Arrive at least two hours before boarding your flight so that you can navigate the airport
  • Check out parking options before you arrive

And arriving early is also critical if you plan on parking yourself, and to help with the increase of traffic the San Antonio Airport has opened up additional parking lots.

The cost of those parking lots is below:

  • Long-term parking: $10 per day
  • Valet parking: $33 per day
  • Short-term valet: $15 for the first three hours

There is also a VIA Park and Ride options, you can also check parking availability in real-time using the flysanantonio.com website.
