SAN ANTONIO — The Boy Scouts Sea Scout 26 Ship Alamo won their first ever Sea Scout National Flagship Fleet for first time in the Alamo Area Council's history.

The scouts earned the award after a great performance in the on-the-water activities and community service under the leadership of Skipper Shawn Sawyer and Boatswains Franky Johns and Erik Sutton.

Every month, the scouts have a 36-hour sail where they camp on a ship and are taught seamanship, navigation and leadership skills.

The scouts have created a YouTube channel which celebrates their training in sailing, motor boats and paddle craft.
