Inmate who escaped a Karnes County facility has been found, officials say

Yonathan Castaneda-Flores reportedly escaped the center, which is located off of FM 1144, around 7:45 Thursday night.

KARNES COUNTY, Texas — The inmate who officials say escaped a Karnes County Immigration processing center has been found, according to Karnes County officials. 

They say Yonathan Castaneda-Flores was captured Friday morning after he was observed emerging from the brush line near a Stripes Convenience Store located at 1905 US Hwy 181 around 9:13 a.m. 

Officials say law enforcement were able to apprehend Castaneda-Flores as he was attempting to barter a ride out of the area. He was medically treated and released back to the Karnes County Immigration Processing Center.

Yonathan Castaneda-Flores escaped Thursday evening at around 7:45 p.m.
