It will be named after Master Sergeant Michael Maltz, a pararescueman who died while serving in Afghanistan. Maltz was from New York and was killed during a rescue mission in 2003.

The 76,000 square foot facility will also have human performance spaces, including a medical exam room and therapy bay.

According to military officials, it will meet the training needs for those who make up the Air Force’s offensive ground force.
