13-year-old accused of shooting, killing man during attempted carjacking in north-side Walmart parking lot

The teen was booked for capital murder along with several other charges.

SAN ANTONIO — A 13-year-old has been arrested in connection with an attempted carjacking that ended with one man dead in a Walmart parking lot on the northside, police said.

The teen was booked for capital murder along with several other charges.

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 12000 block of Blanco Road after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found 65-year-old, Muhammad Pazir, dead on the scene.

Officers said it appears Pazir was shot during an attempted carjacking and the suspect fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.

Officers were later able to track the vehicle down to an apartment complex on Sahara Drive, police said.

Detectives continued to follow the vehicle and witnessed four males enter the vehicle. Officers then tried to initiate a traffic stop which the driver tried to evade, authorities said.

Police said the officers were able to stop the vehicle and all males inside the vehicle were detained. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspected shooter by police.

The suspect was booked for capital murder, felony evading, unlawfully carrying a weapon and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

This is an ongoing investigation and KENS 5 will update this story as more information becomes available.
