Man arrested after chase with deputies and crash on the west side

The incident happened Tuesday around lunchtime in the 9100 block of Adams Hill, near Hunt Lane on the far west side.

SAN ANTONIO — BCSO says a man is facing charges after leading deputies on a chase resulting in a rollover crash.

The incident happened Tuesday around lunchtime in the 9100 block of Adams Hill, near Hunt Lane on the far west side.

“I had just hung up my clothes and then I went inside sat down on the couch and I just hear something dragging, like maybe a truck’s dragging its chains or something and then boom," said neighbor Donna Doe.

Deputies say they were working an incident at Adams Hill and Hunt Lane when the suspect, 36-year-old Anthony Lee Davis, took off in his vehicle. Officials say the car rolled over and crashed into a nearby fence and transformer.

One of the impacted fences belongs to Doe.

“This is like the second time we’ve been hit," Doe said. “Last time, it wasn’t this bad. It was a little bit further down and they only knocked out a panel.”

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said Davis was wanted on for warrants related to domestic violence and evading arrest. Davis is also being charged with criminal mischief and reckless driving.

According to BCSO officials, a deputy spotted Davis appearing to hide himself in his vehicle as law enforcement cruised by along Adams Hill Drive. As the deputy U-turned, Davis sped off and hit a speed bump before losing control and smashing into a pair of fences electrical equipment.

“The fact that he intended to flee with no regard for his passenger. No regard for any of the surrounding community, we’re just really fortunate that nobody else was hurt as a result of his reckless actions. But for today, thankfully he’s going to be going to jail for those charges," Salazar said.

Officials say the suspect was detained and did not suffer major injuries. EMS did respond to the scene as a precaution, however, the suspect refused medical treatment, the fire department said.

This is a developing story and further details will be added as they are received.
