How to make some Fiesta inspired recipes including fan favorite chicken on a stick

KENS 5 found a couple of Fiesta inspired recipes that you can try at home.

SAN ANTONIO — Fiesta is almost here but it can be hard to wait for food at San Antonio's biggest party. KENS 5 found a couple of Fiesta inspired recipes that you can try at home.

We recreated a Fiesta staple, chicken on a stick using a few simple ingredients. The recipe is easy to follow and won't break the bank.

We also recreated a thirst quenching NIOSA Preparada. This alcoholic drink is bright, fun, and over the top.

Chicken on a stick recipe:

  • Create an egg wash by mixing eggs and milk in a bowl
  • Pour a cup of flour on a plate
  • Pour a cup of bread crumbs on a plate (Seasoned to how you like)
  • Grab chicken breast tenders (You can buy them thinly sliced or you can tenderize them)
  • Drag chicken through the flour, egg wash, and the breadcrumbs (In that order)
  • Fill your pan with oil and fry on medium heat until the chicken is nice and crispy
  • Take the chicken out of the pan and rest for a couple of minutes
  • Skewer the chicken and top with a jalapeno and carrot
  • Enjoy!

Smirnoff Preparada recipe:

  • Start by chopping up any fruit of your choice (we used watermelon and strawberries)
  • Cover the rim of your cup with chamoy
  • Fill half of your cup with ice
  • Then fill the rest of the cup with your chopped up fruit
  • Add a bottle of Smirnoff Ice (Pick any flavor you want, we used lime)
  • *You can also make this drink non-alcoholic by using lime Topo Chico instead of Smirnoff
  • Then add chamoy
  • Drop your favorite candies into the drink (We used spicy gummy bears and sour belts)
  • Sprinkle some tajin on top.
  • Add a squeeze of lime.
  • Drink and enjoy!
