HOUSTON — The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years and the second straight year after beating Baltimore, 17-10, Sunday. And while they have the City of Kansas City in their corner, they also have pop superstar Taylor Swift cheering them on, too.
Swift, who is in a relationship with Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, has shown up to several Kansas City games this season, both at home and on the road.
But will she be at the Super Bowl to watch Kelce play? There’s one big thing that could stand in her way -- she has concerts in Tokyo, Japan, four straight nights from Feb. 7 through Feb. 10. The Super Bowl is Feb. 11.
CBS Sports broke down her chances of getting to the game on time.
Swift's last Tokyo concert on Saturday, Feb. 10 begins at 6 p.m. Tokyo time, but she won’t go on stage immediately. If she hits the stage at 8 p.m. and has a three-hour show, she could go wheels-up between midnight and 1 a.m. Tokyo time on Feb. 11. The Super Bowl starts at 3:30 p.m. Las Vegas time on Feb. 11. Vegas is where the Super Bowl will be played.
Tokyo is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas, meaning if Swift’s flight does leave between midnight and 1 a.m. Tokyo time and is in the air for the roughly 12 hours it takes to get from Tokyo to Vegas, Swift and everyone else on the flight would actually go back in time and land in Sin City between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Vegas time on Saturday, Feb. 10. That gives her a little under a day to make the game.
