Wembanyama should be a lock for the 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Wembanyama should be a lock for the Rookie of the Year Award.

He finished the 2023-24 season averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 blocks in 29.7 minutes per game.

He won three straight NBA Rookie of the Month Awards, including March, when he appeared in 12 games (all starts) for the Spurs, averaging 21.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, a league-leading 3.83 blocks, and 1.17 steals in 31.7 minutes. He led all rookies in scoring, rebounding, and blocks for the month.

"These are going to be on my way," he said. "It's another milestone, and these things are important to me."

As for the Defensive Player of the Year, Minnesota's Rudy Gobert will likely take home the award after leading the Timberwolves' league-best defense.

Moreover, no rookie has ever won the Defensive Player of the Award.
