Spurs 118, Blazers 105: What they said after the game

The Spurs snapped their five-game losing skid.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs snapped their five-game losing streak on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-105.

Victor Wembanyama finished with 30 points and six rebounds to lead the team. Zach Collins had 11 points and six rebounds. Jeremy Sochan had 16 points and seven rebounds. Keldon Johnson added nine points and three rebounds. Devin Vassell recorded 17 points in the win.

San Antonio out-scored the Blazers 38-14 and built a 28-point lead during the game.

The Spurs are 5-25 on the season and will remain in Portland to face the Trail Blazers for the second game of a back-to-back Friday night.

Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.

SPURS

Coach Mitch Johnson:

"Incredible. I thought he (Wembanyama) set a tone offensively and defensively. He's spoken about the game slowing down for him and tonight you saw some good moments of him being assertive, playing with pace but not in a rush. Which is hard for young players."

Sochan:

"We were resilient. That was the most important part. We kept going playing together. We were just playing fast. Communicating, being big. We had a bunch of deflections, steals."

Wembanyama:

"On defense, all of us were locked in. We had a lot of deflections, especially in the first half. It's all of it. It's details and when we get it all together this is what it looks like. It all started on defense."

BLAZERS
