French soccer team urging everyone to vote Spurs' Victor Wembanyama into the All-Star Game

Could Wembanyama represent the Spurs at the NBA All-Star Game?

SAN ANTONIO — 2024 NBA All-Star voting is underway and San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is getting big support from his home country of France.

French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain is urging everyone to vote Wemby into the All-Star game.

"Hey, Spurs fans! Let’s get Wemby to the NBA All-Star game," the soccer team posted on X.

Wembanyama making the All-Star team was discussed on a recent episode of Locked On Spurs.

Points covered were whether Wemby will have a tough time making the West team with the Spurs' record being one of the worst in the NBA and how other top-named centers in the West (Nikola Jokic and Karl Anthony-Towns) might overtake the rookie.

There's no doubt he is putting up solid numbers in his first season.

He's currently averaging 18.3 points per game along with 10.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 43% shooting, and 3.0 blocks.

But will he need bigger games to force fans to vote for him or will the fans in San Antonio, France, and across the world be able to rally the votes for him?

San Antonio fans are already pushing for him to make it on the West squad and more will as he final days of voting near.

He could make it as a reserve and will likely be a part of the Rising Stars Challenge but for him to be named an All-Star as a rookie would be a tremendous accomplishment.

You can help Wembanyama and the rest of the Spurs players make it to Indianapolis by voting at NBA.com
