Oddsmaker places Spurs among top teams to select Bronny James at the 2024 NBA Draft

Bronny is projected to be a possible late second-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

SAN ANTONIO — Las Vegas oddsmakers are busy with 2024 NBA offseason prop futures. With the regular season complete, the 2023 NBA Draft is looming, and one of the major storylines is whether USC's Bronny James will be selected.

Several major online sportsbooks are releasing which teams have the best odds at drafting LeBron James' son. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the San Antonio Spurs are among the top 10 teams.

DraftKings has the Spurs with the 6th-best odds of selecting Bronny at +1200.

The Lakers (+180), 76ers (+1000), and Thunder (+1000) are the favorites to select Bronny.

Bronny averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists per game with USC in 25 games.

However, at the 2024 NBA Combine, reports of him being a viable NBA player were mixed.

On a recent NBA on ESPN episode, NBA writer Mark Spears reported that one scout believes Bronny is not ready, is too small, and that if the Lakers don't draft him, no other team will, while another thinks he is not "an NBA prospect."

On the other hand, he did well at the NBA Combine during the 3-point shooting drill, knocking down 19 of 25 shots, and showed his athleticism by recording a 40.5-inch max vertical jump.

Ultimately, the intrigue is if his dad, LeBron, will follow him to whichever team selects him, as he proclaimed.

But he is projected to be selected late in the second round or not at all.

San Antonio holds picks Nos. 4 and 8 in the first round and 35 and 48 in the second round.
