Can the Spurs beat the defending NBA champs?

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs (20-60) will host the Denver Nuggets (56-24) tonight.

GAME REWIND

The Spurs are coming off a road loss versus the Thunder, 127-89.

Zach Collins scored 20 points and seven rebounds, and Julian Champagnie scored five in the loss. Tre Jones contributed 13 points, Malaki Branham scored seven, and Sidy Cissoko posted 14.

Due to injuries, San Antonio was without Jeremy Sochan, Cedi Osman, Keldon Johnson, Victor Wembanyama, and Devin Vassell.

"Every minute they [role players] get is a learning experience for them. It doesn't matter what's going on in the court. It's about them executing," said Gregg Popovich. "Learning how to play, not just with each other, but improving their individual game. They're all young guys trying to make a career. All the minutes, the experience adds up over time."
