All hail Mayor Booker? WWE Hall of Famer running for mayor in Houston

Booker T Huffman Jr., better known to the world as WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Booker T has announced that he will run for Mayor of Houston in 2019.

Booker T Huffman Jr., better known to the world as WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Booker T has announced that he will run for Mayor of Houston in 2019.

He released a letter attached to a tweet on Wednesday confirming that he will seek the office.

In the letter, Booker T lays out exactly why the people of Houston should vote for him, once imprisoned for armed robbery, he turned his life around by entering the pro wrestling business with his brother. They started off in independent shows and eventually made their way to the WCW. Booker T later joined the WWE when the companies merged.

Since then, Booker T has maintained an on-air presence with WWE as a general manager and commentator. In 2013 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The man once known as King Booker also has his own wrestling school and independent promotion in Houston called Reality of Wrestling.

As a small businessman and a man of the people who grew up poor and made something of himself, he's hoping his story can connect enough with the citizens of Houston to win in 2019.
