"We have lots of problems in Kendall County, flash floods, traffic, water, but when we heard the breaking news of the missing monkey it went right to the the top."

BOERNE, Texas — Fliers are circulating around the Cordillera neighborhood and social media trying to find a monkey that escaped.

Baron Wiley host of Boerne Radio 103.9 FM, delivered the news this morning to Boerne area residents.

“The fliers say that the monkey is scared and if you see the monkey do not chase," said Baron Wiley, Host Boerne Radio 103.9 FM.

Wiley has been with Boerne Radio for 3 years and says when he heard about the story of the missing money, he laughed, and knew he had to report on it.

“We have lots of problems in Kendall County you know flash floods, traffic, water but when we heard the breaking news of the missing monkey, it went right to the top.” said Wiley

Fliers of the missing monkey were made in both English and Spanish and someone shared it on Facebook, urging residents to be on the lookout for the prized primate.

According to the flier the monkey was lost in the 400 block of Cordillera Trace.

KENS 5 wanted to know if it's legal to own a monkey in Texas.

We reached out to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, who said in a statement.

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department does not have any regulations related to the possession or transport of monkeys. Possession of certain species may be regulated at the local level by appropriate city or county animal control authorities," said Maggie Berger, TPWD.

We also reached out to Kendall County who say they have no restrictions on owning a monkey.

We called the number on the flier, the owner said the monkey is still missing, but declined to comment.
