Annual Ranch Hand Breakfast brings families together to 'rope-in' some quality time

Organizers said they were happy to help Coastal Bend families experience some of the rich culture and heritage of ranching life.

KINGSVILLE, Texas — King Ranch enjoyed a sizzling start to the holiday season with the opening of its 32nd annual Ranch Hand Breakfast Saturday morning!

A record crowd showed up to fill their bellies with hearty cowboy breakfasts, and they made sure to save room for activities.

There was plenty of fun to be had at the world-famous ranch, including team roping, cooking demonstrations, and cowboy poetry.

Organizers said they wanted families to experience the rich heritage of ranch-life and the cowboy lifestyle.

Lorette Williams, the Dir. of Hospitality at King Ranch said one of the top goals of the event was for participating families to remember the value of spending time together.

"Opening up letting the community come out and see a little but about our ranch life and what we do here. It's also great to come out and just simplify things. Put your phone away, just enjoy time with family and friends that's really what the events is about," said Williams.

The breakfast is part of an entire ranch hand weekend there in Kingsville.
