Man found dead from gunshot wounds on southeast side, sparking murder investigation

Sheriff Javier Salazar said it's believed the unidentified victim was brought to the 9500 block of South WW White Road and killed there.

SAN ANTONIO — The body of a young man with "several gunshot wounds" was found in southeast San Antonio on Friday evening, sparking a murder investigation and search for potential suspects.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said passersby noticed the body lying in the 9500 block of South WW White Road, near the Interstate 37/Loop 410 interchange, around 7 p.m. They noticed "trauma" to the body, Salazar said, and called law enforcement.

"There's evidence that there (were) gunshots that occurred here," Salazar said when asked if the body was dumped or if the man was killed where he was found.
