Woman killed in head-on collision in northwest San Antonio, police say

The driver of a black sedan was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was killed Friday afternoon after police say she made an "unprotected turn" at a west-side intersection and a car slammed into hers.

The woman was identified as 75-year-old Isabel Sanchez.

According to San Antonio authorities, Sanchez was driving a white car through Rogers and Culebra around 1:30 p.m. when a black sedan hit her car head-on, causing the sedan to spin out of control and hit a third vehicle.

Sanchez was taken to the hospital where she later died, officials said. The driver of the black Sedan was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed.
