Pearl area is 'Still Golden' thanks to bar's latest re-imagining

Still Golden Social House is open for business, and hoping to bring a fun patio atmosphere to Broadway.

SAN ANTONIO - Still Golden is celebrating its first week in business, but the concept is familiar to guests of The Pearl.

"Still Golden is the second coming of what used to be Stay Golden. Before that, it was called Golden Gloves," Still Golden General Manager Stephan Mendez said.

Stay Golden was demolished in Summer 2017. However, the latest re-imagining opened March 5 at 1900 Broadway.

"The Pearl decided to make [Stay Golden] into an office building, basically. We decided to open up as close as we could to keep the same neighborhood feel. It had such a great following from the beginning," he said.

Mendez said the bar will have a rotating menu of house cocktails for $8.

"A lot of it will be dictated by our clientele and the feedback they give us. We're here for them," he said.

"Shout-outs" to the Alamo City in the drink menu include the "Slam Antonio" cocktail, a passion fruit daiquiri, and the "Tricentennial Cooler" in honor of San Antonio's 300th anniversary in 2018.

"Our goal is just to have a neighborhood spot for everyone to come to. We want to get everyone here that we can," Mendez said.
