16-year-old dies in Comal County accident, officials say

The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. at FM 3009 and FM 1683, which is west of New Braunfels.

COMAL COUNTY, Texas — A teen has died in an accident Tuesday morning in Comal County, officials said.

The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. at FM 3009 and FM 1683, which is west of New Braunfels. 

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said the driver of a 2023 Isuzu Box Truck started going northbound in the southbound lanes for unknown reason. The truck collided with a 2010 Toyota Sienna. The driver of the Toyota, a 16-year-old male, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the box truck was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The victim who was killed has not yet been identified.
