North Texas mom wants answers after teen daughter rushed to ICU with mysterious injuries following crash

Aaliyah Jackson was gravely hurt when she taken to the hospital Sept. 28 after a wreck on I-30 near 45. But doctors say her injuries didn't come from the crash.

DALLAS — LaRhonda Jackson yearns to know how her TiKTok loving daughter Aaliyah ended up in the hospital on life support.

“Mom question that I have. Aaliyah, who did it? And why?“ she said. “I just feel empty and hopeless, because it's been two weeks my baby's been laying here.”

The 16-year-old Lancaster High junior was rushed to the hospital around 5 a.m. Sept. 28. A crash report shows she was a passenger in a car that crashed in Dallas off of Interstate 30 near Interstate 45. The driver and another passenger fled the scene – leaving a gravely hurt Aaliyah behind.

But according to the crash report, medical staff determined it wasn’t the crash that caused those injuries. According to Dallas police, their preliminary investigation revealed "unknown suspects were hitting the victim with their hands and feet" and was then "involved in a crash at I-35 and Wheatland Road."

“She had fractures all on her neck, fractures down her back and her bones lower down. She had a big bruise, part of her ear was almost ripped off,” said Jackson.

Jackson said Aaliyah went into the hospital as a Jane Doe – without her cellphone or ID. She said she didn’t find her until the next day, after she’d filed a missing person’s report.

“We got there and Aaliyah was laying there with a million trillion tubes in her, she wasn't conscious. She was just there,” she said.

Leaving the mom of three wondering, "What kind of person would leave her child that way?"

"It's crazy, it's just like... they really just left her for dead. And that's the hurtful, hurtful part,” she said.

Jackson said she believes her daughter was picked up by a so-called “friend” early that morning and may have been beaten up before the crash – based on a video circulating on social media. Dallas police are investigating.

“I know for sure the wreck was just God intervening,” said Jackson.

Doctors are now monitoring the teens brain function.

“I'm going to be here every step of the way. Through the speech therapy, through the rehab, through the neurologists,” said Jackson.

Jackson said she’s optimistic and relying on her faith for her daughters recovery.
