Man stabbed in back by girlfriend during heated argument, police say

The girlfriend fled from the location after stabbing her boyfriend.

SAN ANTONIO — A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after getting stabbed in the back by his girlfriend during a fight, police say.

San Antonio Police were dispatched to a hospital near the 300 block of West Mayfield Boulevard near Commercial Avenue of the southwest side of town around 10 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Police say the 24-year-old man arrived at the hopsital with a stab wound.  He told officers he was at home when he got into a heated argument with his significant other, who is in her mid 20s, and she stabbed him in the back.

She took off following the stabbing in an unknown direction and her whereabouts are currently unknown.

The victim suffered a life-threatening injury, but is currently stable, say officials.

No description was provided of the suspect.
