Man stabbed multiple times after fight over tent at homeless camp, police say

After he was attacked, the victim rode a bicycle down the street and asked the first person he saw to call for help.

SAN ANTONIO — A man suffered multiple stab wounds after a fight over a tent at a homeless camp on the west side of town early Tuesday morning.

San Antonio Police were dispatched to the 5600 block of Westward Drive near Pinn Road just before 3 a.m. for reports of someone stabbed.

Officers tell us that two guys got into a fight over a tent at a homeless camp on Colt Drive at U.S. Highway 90 West and one of them stabbed the other multiple times in his body and back. The victim, a man in his 50s, managed to ride off on a bike down Westward Drive to get help.

He asked the first person he saw to contact police.

That victim was taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

Right now police are still searching for the suspect who they describe as a red head.

This is a developing story.
