SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot in what police say may have been a road rage incident on the south side of town Sunday.
San Antonio Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Southeast Military Drive around 4:13 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
Witnesses told police that two drivers had been involved in some sort of a road rage incident on Roosevelt Avenue prior to the shooting. Police say the suspect, who was driving a blue sedan, followed the victim into a nearby mall parking lot, where they began fist fighting. That's when someone in the suspect's car shot the victim in the cheek, according to police.
The victim was able to drive away, but struck a 78-year-old pedestrian in the parking lot with his vehicle. That pedestrian had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
The victim then managed to drive away and stopped at a nearby fast-food restaurant at the 3500 block of Roosevelt to call for help. He was taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
No arrests have been made. Police say the suspect, when found, will be facing charges of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.
