SAFD: Man drowns in residential pool on south side

Police believe the man was cleaning the pool when he fell.

SAN ANTONIO — A man drowned after reportedly falling into a pool at a south-side home Friday morning, officials said. 

San Antonio police and fire crews responded to a call for a drowning around 10:30 a.m. on East Young Avenue.  

Fire officials say a man in his early 70's fell into the pool while he was cleaning it. Officials said his wife found him and pulled him out of the pool. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after resuscitation efforts by paramedics, fire officials said.

No other information was provided.
