Helping Veterans get into homes with the often forgotten VA loan

Many homebuyers forget the loan even exists.

SAN ANTONIO — Getting into a home right now is tough with home prices so high and interest rates soaring. It's also especially hard for veterans.

Clint Jordan is the founder of Mil-Estate, a military real estate network.

He says accessibility of decent housing is one hurdle because home prices typically surpass the cap on their allowance for housing, and they are forced into a less desirable neighborhood.

The second problem is lack of education about the VA loan.

Every realtor and everybody knows about the VA loan go to New York. Or maybe there's not that many people that know you're a veteran. You don't hear about it. You have all of the rights to it. But people push away from it saying, hey, you can't use that here. And that's not true," said Jordan.
