Family of six, four dogs escape fast-moving fire in Alamo Ranch

The fire was blowing through the roof of the home when crews arrived.

SAN ANTONIO — A family of six and their four dogs escaped from a fast-moving fire that had flames showing through the roof when crews arrived at the scene.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 5800 block of Sweetwater Way in Alamo Ranch for reports of a fire around 12:13 a.m. Tuesday.

The American Red Cross will be helping the family displaced by the fire.

No damage estimate was provided at this time, but officials believe it's probably around $100,000 in damages.

No injuries were reported.

Multiple fire crews responded to battle the blaze.
