Fire in two sheds outside northeast-side home causes $12,000 in damages, SAFD says

The two sheds, as well as an overhang between them and a tree, all were on fire when first responders arrived at the home.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters battle a fire after two sheds ignite on the north east side of San Antonio early Monday morning.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 100 block of Timberlane Drive near Rittiman Road around 4 a.m. for reports of a fire.

According to crews at the scene, two sheds as well as an overhang between them and a tree were all on fire when they arrived. They were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

Nobody was living in the home, but a neighbor told firefighters that the owner's son was staying in one of the sheds with no utilities and actually left earlier Sunday to stay somewhere else. SAFD says that same home caught fire a year ago as well.

Damages from the fire are estimated to be around $12,000.

The cause is now under investigation. No injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
