SHICKSHINNY, Pa. — There was a very special celebration for one resident in Luzerne County.
Elaine Sorber turned 100 years old.
The celebration at the Shickshinny Senior Center was organized by one of Sorber's granddaughters, Lona Sorber.
When asked about the secret to a long life, Elaine said it's all about staying positive.
"Always having a happy day somewhere or another, never always being depressed, look for the good side, always. My mother always said you never think about the bad days, you think just about the good ones then you'll always be happy" said Elaine Sorber.
Everyone celebrated the big milestone with special cupcakes. From everyone at Newswatch 16, Happy Birthday, Elaine!
