Two people shot after argument between neighbors escalates at northwest-side apartment complex, authorities say

San Antonio Police responded to a call on the 1000 block of Vance Jackson Road around 9:30 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO — A man and women were shot after an argument between neighbors at a northwest-side apartment complex escalates Wednesday night, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to a call on the 1000 block of Vance Jackson Road around 9:30 p.m.

Police say a couple was arguing in their own apartment when 49-year-old William Oliver intervened and told them to calm down. This angered the man who then confronted Oliver.

The man kicked in Oliver's door and held him at gunpoint. The man allegedly told Oliver he was going to kill him in Spanish but backed off and returned to his own apartment, authorities say.

Police say Oliver later retrieved his own gun and loaded it with a bird shot which is a small pellet shotgun shell.

As the man was walking to his car, Oliver shot the man - hitting him twice and striking another woman who was an innocent bystander, authorities say.

The neighbor and woman were taken to a local hospital but are expected to recover.

Police say Oliver is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

No other information was provided.
