Police say woman struck by stray bullet fired from vehicle outside of Motel 6

SAPD says the stray bullet was from a road rage incident between two drivers who were shooting at each other.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hit by a stray bullet that was fired from a vehicle outside of the Motel 6 east of downtown near Fort Sam Houston Sunday morning, police say. Now SAPD is saying the stray bullet was from a road rage incident between two drivers who wee shooting at each other.

San Antonio Police responded to the motel located on Goldfield Drive at Industry Park Drive just after 1 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.

According to police, two drivers were exchanging gunfire in what they say was an incident of road rage outside of the motel. The victim was standing outside of her room when she was struck by the stray bullet. She was taken to BAMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located some shell casings in the area but do not have any information on the suspects, who reportedly fled from the location following the shooting.

No other injuries were reported.
