SAN ANTONIO — A woman sitting outside her home was unexpectedly approached by a man with a life-threatening stab wound who asked her to call police.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Tesla Drive on San Antonio's west side at about 9 a.m. Friday.

The woman called for emergency response, then performed medical first aid on him until first responders arrived.

The man was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. There was no word on his condition.

The man had been walking down the street looking for someone to call police because he did not have a cell phone.

A San Antonio Police Department spokesman said the man was uncooperative about giving any information about how he was stabbed. As a result, they had no description of a possible suspect in the case.
