Rock thrown through window of Shavano Park church

"We're doing the best that we can to handle it," the pastor at St. Francis of Assisi said, adding they don't intend to press charges.

SAN ANTONIO — Faith leaders at a parish in north San Antonio are asking for the public's help identifying who threw a rock through the church's window recently.

Photos shared on St. Francis of Assisi's Facebok page show the window broken by a rock that was found inside the Shavano Park building. Father Tony Vilano said there was "glass all over the place," adding vandalism likely happened sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday.

No one was hurt.

Vilano said the church isn't looking to press charges, only for those responsible to own up to their actions.

"We haven't had anyone here who are angry or violent," he said. "But there are people who are probably hurting, people dealing with anxiety or suffering mentally, or just kids that decided to do something malicious like this."

St. Francis of Assisi officials filed a police report. Father Vilano said he hopes there won't be repeat cases for other San Antonio churches.
