Prince was adopted after two years at shelter with no applications | Forgotten Friends

After we featured him on Forgotten Friends, he had multiple inquiries after two years with none at all! He went home on Wednesday.

CONVERSE, Texas — UPDATE 11/16

We are excited to update that Prince has found his forever home. The husky mix had been at the Converse Animal Shelter for two years without a single application or any interest.

We featured him in Forgotten Friends and he had multiple phone calls with folks showing interest. On Wednesday, he went home with his new human after 764 days at the shelter. Good luck Prince!

Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week’s Forgotten Friend is a three-year-old husky mix named Prince who was brought to the Converse Animal Shelter two years ago when his owner could no longer care for him.

He hasn’t had a single application in the entire two years he has been at the shelter. The staff can’t understand why because he’s super friendly with everyone… other dogs, kids, people and he even likes cats.

He recently had his DNA panel done and he is 50% Siberian Husky, and then a mix of terrier and boxer.

CASI recently had DNA panels done on all of their animals.

Prince would do well with an active family. He recently went on an outing to a baseball game and everyone loved him.

He’s healthy, heartworm negative, neutered, and current on all of his vaccinations.

You can even take Prince home and see if he's a good fit for you and your family without adopting him first. The shelter will let you take him home on a trial basis or even foster him for no charge, and they'll even give you the dog food and take care of all of the veterinary visits! Everybody wins! Prince finally gets a home of his very own, and it frees up a spot at the shelter making room to save another dog from a kill shelter.

It's not often you get the chance to save TWO lives.

This boy deserves some love. And in return, he will give that love back tenfold.
