Mother gives emotional plea for husband's safe return after he went missing

Her high school sweet-heart, the father to her three daughters, has been gone since last Wednesday.

Scott Mayer’s wife Melissa gave an emotional plea for the safe return of her missing husband, who vanished without a trace eight days ago.

"You are my love, my life, my soul, and my everything," she said.

Her high school sweetheart, the father to her three daughters, has been gone since last Wednesday.

"The girls need their daddy back," she said. "You are their world. They love you. And I love you dearly."

Melissa didn't speak about the day she last saw her husband but pleaded for his return.

"I need my best friend back," she said. "I need you back. We know that God is with you and surrounding you with his arms, his love, and support."

The Coker United Methodist Church was packed with people Wednesday evening. They prayed for the Mayer family and Scott's safe return.

So far, the only credible lead in this case is a ping from Scott's cellphone that came from the Bulverde area off Highway 281 and 46. The baseball coach's SUV still hasn't been found.

A second search planned for Saturday is still tentative depending on any credible leads.

If you know anything about his disappearance, you are urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000, or email MissingPersons@Bexar.org, or call a special number set up by the family, which is 210-709-3885.
