Recycle your Christmas tree in San Antonio. Here's what you need to know.

San Antonio has 5 locations to take your Christmas trees.

SAN ANTONIO — If you're wondering what to do next with your Christmas tree in an eco-friendly way, try recycling it. 

San Antonio has 5 locations where you can take your Christmas tree to turn into mulch, according to the City of San Antonio's Facebook page

Here's what you need to know before you drop-off:

  • Remove all lights, decorations and stands. 
  • Do not bag trees.
  • Trees over 6 feet should be cut in half.
  • No live wreaths, garlands or plants will be accepted. 

Below are a list of available locations for drop-off:

  • Bitters Brush Recycling Center
  • Highway 90 Center 
  • Culebra Road Drop-off Center
  • Frio City Road Drop-off Center
  • Rigsby Road Drop-off Center

If you're interested in grabbing the final mulch product for your garden, Bitters Brush Recycling Center will have mulch available for free two weeks after Christmas, according to the Solid Waste Management Department
