SAN ANTONIO -- The Texas Department of Transportation and Texas Sterling Construction said Wednesday that they will be closing a portion of Fredericksburg Road for up to two weeks for a construction project.

TxDOT said the closure will begin at midnight Thursday at Fredericksburg Road and Medical Drive.

According to TxDOT, the reconstruction of the intersection was originally planned for Wednesday at midnight, but the date was pushed back 24 hours after the high volume of rain in the area Tuesday night and Wednesday.

TxDOT said the project could be pushed back another 24 hours if weather conditions maintain or get worse Thursday.

TxDOT said traffic will only be able to turn right onto Medical Drive for the duration of the project, but traffic on the road will be able to pass through the intersection.
