Stepfather speaks on teen's disappearance at border 14 years ago

Almost 14 years ago, two young Laredo women disappeared after a concert in Nueva Laredo and they've never been heard from again.

SAN ANTONIO - Sunday's deadly human smuggling incident highlights a horrendous problem in south Texas.

Almost 14 years ago, two young Laredo women disappeared after a concert in Nueva Laredo and they've never been heard from again.

Last Friday, a leader of the Zetas drug cartel Ivan-Velasquez-Cabballero, also known as Talivan, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on drug and racketeering charges.

In an unusual move, the father of one of those missing women, Yvette Martinez was allowed to speak during the sentencing hearings.

The step father of Martinez, William Slemaker Senior, spoke with KENS 5 Eyewitness News This Morning and said he just wants to bring her body home, wherever it may be.
