Arctic cold front will blast through San Antonio this weekend

By the time Halloween rolls around San Antonians will be dealing with their second day of cold weather so make sure to pack a jacket for those trick-or-treaters.

SAN ANTONIO — Fall is coming San Antonio! Take out your jackets and long sleeves because residents can expect one of the biggest temperature swings of the season yet. 

While clouds and dreary conditions have brought much-needed rain to the area big changes are on the way . As temperatures stay in the 80s this week a strong front will bring more than a 30-degree drop in time for San Antonians to enjoy Halloween. 

Here's what San Antonians can expect:

Saturday - Halloween:  Warm and humid weather stays for Saturday and Sunday as the cold front arrives late Sunday afternoon. The arctic cold front will push through the Hill Country by Sunday afternoon and into San Antonio around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday temperatures could still reach 80 degrees however, once the front pushes through temperatures will plummet into the 50s by 9 p.m. Sunday evening. The front will also be trailing showers and storms behind it on Sunday evening around 10 p.m. Rain will continue overnight through Monday morning.

Monday morning temperatures will start out in the 40s and by the time Halloween rolls around San Antonians will be dealing with their second day of cold weather. In fact, Halloween could stay in the upper 40s all day so make sure to pack a jacket for those trick-or-treaters.  

It's safe to say sweater weather is here a couple of days for San Antonians to enjoy.

By Wednesday San Antonio will begin a warming trend and by Thursday high temperatures will be back in the upper 60s.
