SAN ANTONIO — It's Fiesta time, San Antonio!

After a gloomy start to the week, many San Antonians are wondering if rain will dampen those popular Fiesta events. Unfortunately, rain is in the forecast and it comes during some marquee Fiesta parties.

Gray skies stick around for most of the week before a cold front pushes through San Antonio close to the weekend. This will bring San Antonians a chance for rain and cooler temperatures behind the front.

Here's what to expect for week one of Fiesta:

Wednesday (High 89 and Low 69): Thanks to warm temperatures, San Antonians could wake up to some foggy conditions and cloud cover. Light rain and drizzle are also possible during your morning commute. Afternoon highs will be near 90 degrees, leaving a very hot and humid day in store.

One weather model is generating thunderstorms to counties west of Bexar County around 7:30 p.m. These storms, if they decide to develop, should stay to the west of San Antonio.

Thursday (High 90 and Low 70): Another hot day is in store with high temperatures in the 90s. Skies will be mostly cloudy and rain should stay away during the kickoff of Fiesta Fiesta. There's a slight chance of rain late in the evening, but Fiesta-goers may need to pack up early.

Friday (High 86 and Low 68): Rain chances start to increase on this day, especially as we get closer to evening. That means those attending Friday events like Oyster Bake, Fiesta de los Reyes and Taste of New Orleans could experience some rainy conditions.

However, one model once again keeps rain on the lighter side until about 10 p.m., so Fiesta-goers will want to keep an eye on the forecast.

Saturday (High 82 and Low 68): Rain chances start to kick up this day as the cold front moves closer, ratcheting up rain chances during the evening. On Saturday we can expect rain with more measurable amounts around 9 p.m. This is when the cold front should arrive, with some heavier pockets of showers possible.

A lot of Fiesta events will still be taking place in the evening, so you'll want to take an umbrella if you plan to be out late.

Sunday (High 72 and Low 58): Early in the morning, shortly after midnight, the cold front should pass San Antonio, bringing rain with heavier pockets. By Sunday afternoon most of the rain should be gone, leaving the Alamo City with much cooler temperatures; highs are expected to only reach the 70s, with lows dipping into the 50s!

This should be a great day to get out during the afternoon and enjoy a Fiesta event. There will also be dry air in place, so the weather will feel much more comfortable than the past week.
