SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Drivers will be in store for major traffic problems that will extend through the weekend.
TxDOT is scheduled to fully close the interchange of Loop 1604 and I-10 in northwest San Antonio beginning tonight.
The interchange will be closed for the next several weekends but this weekend's closure will begin at 9 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m Monday morning, weather permitting.
This is all part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project. The closures will allow the installation of steel beams as work begins to focus on the building of ramps and bridges at the interchange.
Closed lanes:
- I-10 eastbound main lanes from UTSA Blvd. to La Cantera Parkway
- Loop 1604 eastbound/westbound main lanes from Vance Jackson Rd. to La Cantera Parkway
- Loop 1604 eastbound/westbound frontage roads between the 1-10 eastbound and westbound frontage roads
Law enforcement will be onsite to direct traffic.
