Rigsby reopened at Loop 410 after driver crashes into support column, officials say

The southbound lanes at Rigsby were closed for some time as crews cleaned up the aftermath.

SAN ANTONIO — Southbound Loop 410 at Rigsby on the east side is back open after workers made repairs to a highway sign that police say a driver crashed into early Friday morning, resulting in traffic delays. 

TxDOT says the southbound lanes of 410 at Rigsby were back open shortly after noon following the crash, which unfolded around 3 a.m. 

Police say a 23-year-old woman was driving southbound on Loop 410 when she tried to take an exit early and crashed into a support column for the overhead sign. She was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver was taken to the hospital Friday morning with life-threatening injuries.
