SANANTONIO-- According to San Antonio police, a driver traveling east bound around 3 a.m. on Wurzbach Parkway crashed into a wooded area, causing the vehicle to go up in flames.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the fire. One person was trapped in the car and died at the scene. The vehicle crash took place next to a freshmakeshift memorial from another accident that happened there in March.
All morning long, crime scene detectives along with traffic investigators have been gathering evidence. Police put the helicopter to use searching the brushy area nearby to make sure nobody was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
Police tell Eyewitness News they are looking at speed as a contributing factor. Investigators are working to identify the victim. Police closed off the area from Military Drive to Blanco Road east bound to investigate the accident.
