Several Sam's Clubs locations across the country are closing effective immediately, including at least one in the San Antonio area.

The Sam’s Club at 12919 San Pedro at Highway 281 is set to close for good on Jan. 26, according to store employees. It will reopen tomorrow at 10:00 am and everything will be 25 percent off except for alcohol, tobacco, batteries, and tires.

A store employee said those with prescriptions can still come to the store and pick up their medication.

Anne Hatfield, director of communications for Walmart's public affairs released the following statement to KENS 5.

"Club is closed today so we could inform our associates so we gave them the day off and closed the club. We will reopen the club tomorrow," Hatfield said.

Some employees tell KENS 5 the stores closed without notice, and they only learned of the closure as they arrived for work early Thursday.
